Grove Park Inn Wedding

One of my favorite locations is the Grove Park Inn for a wedding. The views are gorgeous and I just love the rock work! So beautiful! This is where Staci and Trey chose to have their wedding. Emotion is a huge part in telling a story of a wedding. Tears, laughter, and the seriousness can be shown with just a few images. I love this moment when Staci got her gift from Trey. The blue and green color palette they chose fits so well with the view!
Staci just being beautiful and ready to meet Trey! Isn't this just so romantic! The first look....Oh and did I mention how much fun they had that day!Waiting for Staci as she walk down the aisle. Simply beautiful!Next favorite part...her dress had two styles! Love this for the party that was getting ready to happen!Karen with Browns Floral did a fantastic job with the details. And don't you love the canolis! No cake, just these delicious masterpieces!First dance romance...And what a fun exit! Yes they were chased with the ribbons...

A surprise proposal caught on camera!

Tyler contacted me a few months prior to a trip he was planning with his longtime girlfriend Lacy. He wanted to propose to her when they got to NC and wanted it captured so they could share the experience with friends and family back home. So we went to planning. He even had his hat shipped to me a few days prior so he could have it for the photos session we were going to have after she said yes. When I showed up to the Esmerelda Inn in Chimney Rock, I played it cool and acted as if I were photographing the Inn for a new brochure they were putting together, to advertise their wedding facilities. I asked the cute couple walking by if they wanted to be in the brochure and if they would mind posing by the waterfall for a few shots. Of course they were up for it...wink wink. Out back by the waterfall, the magic happened! He got down on one knee, her mouth dropped open, her hands curled up with excitement, he put the ring on...
and she said YES!!!!
Somebody was quite happy!

After a few minutes of letting it settle in, we answered all of Lacy's questions and explained how he had been planning this all along. She was so happy! They rode all the way on his Harley. We had to incorporate their love of riding with some of these. We had a few hours before sunset and had a great time playing around Lake Lure and Chimney Rock.

Lioncrest Wedding on Biltmore Estate

Stacy and Jason were one of my favorite couples and I just realized I hadn't blogged their fabulous wedding! It really was an honor to photograph their day. They kept me smiling all day long! Sharing this day with family and friends was most important to them. I love it when this is a big part of the couple's day.

When pets are a big part of your lives, how sweet is it to have them at your wedding! LOVE!

So that we had more time around the estate for photos, the couple opted for a first meet. I am torn as to which I like more, this or seeing each other for the first time walking down the aisle. Each has its own special pull at my heart strings. Love this photo of Stacy! Isn't she gorgeous!How beautiful is this!
Having a 2nd photographer at the wedding adds that extra set of images at the wedding that just one person cannot always get. I love this shot as Stacy arrives to the front of the aisle with her dad.

The Flower Gallery of Asheville was given creative freedom with this wedding and look how amazing it turned out!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

Jason and Stacy were naval officers when they met and that was incorporated into their wedding by using her officer's sword to cut the cake. I love details like this!And of course one of my favorite times of the evening are the first dances. Again with the wonderful smiles!

Biltmore Estate Styled Bridal Portrait

I just love being able to step outside of the norm and have some fun with a portrait session! Lindsay let me do just that. For her bridal session I brought in the expertise of Maura and Tara from The Darling Bee and the fabulous cakes by Tiffany's Baking Co. We started in the studio for a few traditional images that were timeless and beautiful, focusing on Lindsay and her Kenneth Pool dress and veil. They wanted an image similar to her grandmother's wedding portrait. From there, we went to play in the apple orchard! The blooms were just perfect! There was a storm the night before and I just knew the blooms would be gone, but there they were, just waiting for us.
It started to rain a little so we took off to the next location, Biltmore Estate. It was the perfect backdrop for the next staging. The open fields for the vintage picnic were beautiful. Sometimes the weather is just working against you so you have to find a way to make it happen. The wind was so strong at this point so we wrapped the veil around Lindsay and as you can see from the top image, it worked in our favor! She is absolutely stunning!!!!

Next area was the conservatory at Biltmore with the tulip festival. A perfect spot! As the rain started again, we went looking for cover because we had the sweet part left. Tiffany made the cutest miniature wedding cakes for the shoot. I wanted to bring Lindsay's love of cake decorating and baking into her session to personalize it. She is very talented herself!

Thank you Lindsay for a most wonderful day and to Jana (her mom) for all your help. I am so glad you were there!

Destination Engagement Session

One of the things I love about the photography business is getting to photograph new people and fantastic new places on a regular basis. I was very excited to photograph Leah and J.T.'s engagement session in Florida this past week. The engagement session is similar to the wedding day as to tell a story...of who you are as a couple and this time in your lives. Since they recently moved to Florida, that is where it took place. They love the water!

We met the next morning for sunrise. It was perfect!

Oh and their baby Sidney was a must have for some photos! Sidney is a Golden Receiver (not misspelled) as he is named after Sidney Rice, a wide receiver for the Game Cocks (J.T. is a HUGE fan). We had so much fun! And I just cannot wait for their wedding!

Deerpark Wedding on Biltmore Estate

Allison and Justin had the perfect wedding at Deerpark on the Biltmore Estate! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this location! The ceremony is usually in the center courtyard but has a backup hall in case of the unwanted rain, and the hall is beautiful too! Fortunately this day was gorgeous! I love all the details that went into this wedding, thanks to the help of Maura Scarmack of Honey Darling Events! She is most fabulous! I have LOTS of images to share that I am very excited about!!!! Allison got ready at the Inn on Biltmore. I just love her purse! So cute! And the awesome bridesmaid's dress details!
Allison and Justin had a first meet before the ceremony so we had plenty of time around the estate for some wonderful family, bridal party, and couple photos. They were able to enjoy the cocktail hour with their guests since we did everything before the ceremony.
I love the gorgeous details from The Flower Gallery! Beautiful flower girls!!!! Such sweet vows. Allison's idea for the place cards were to have the leaves tied by ribbons hanging from the trees at the entrance to the reception. Love this!Again Flower Gallery magic!

Wedding at Lake Toxaway Country Club

Parmelee and Cade were married at the Lake Toxaway Country Club in mid October. It is such a beautiful setting for a fantastic black tie affair. I cannot wait to photograph there again! Here are a few of my favorite images from the day. I just loved working with this couple! LOVE these handmade details from the wedding! Dried and pressed flowers...ooh so pretty!The girls just before the ceremony. So happy! Someone is happy to be getting married! Love these flowers by Isabel out of Atlanta. The warm sun glowing in the background makes for a perfect setting.The Del Baroni Orchestra was perfect for this event. You know the dance floor will be full all night with them! Seaside, Florida has always been a special place for us and seemed the ideal place for our intimate ceremony of four. After talking with a wedding planner in Seaside, I learned that photographers who were not on Seaside's vendor list were not allowed to shoot weddings. At that point we had to negotiate the non-negotiable. I absolutely had to have Corey's creative eye, positive energy, and undeniable talent. So....we moved the ceremony to Seagrove, Seaside's neighbor. She followed us around the day before the wedding and shot the entire wedding day. Wedding in Cashiers NC

Karen and Matthew were married this summer at a private home in Cashiers NC near the High Hampton Inn. It is a beautiful area and the views from the back deck made for a gorgeous setting for their wedding. They were surrounded by their closest friends and family. The rehearsal dinner was filled with lots of laughter especially when this story was told...when they told Karen's son (the man of the family) they were getting married, he said jokingly that he would not give his permission until Matthew paid him with 13 goats...so at the rehearsal dinner they provided him with every type of goat they could find! Goat wine stoppers, goat ornaments, goat stuffed animals, goat beanie babies, a movie Men who Stare at Goats, and more! It was too hilarious! With so much laughter and love, I can see Karen and Matthew are perfect for one another! I just love this photo. Great Grandmother and grandchild. So beautiful!And a very appropriate grooms cake!Wonderful vendors that helped make this day perfect!

Meet two awesome people...Jane and Jackson! Their wedding was held this fall at The Crest Center Pavilion in Asheville NC. It was so cold that day, but that did not stop them from having an amazing wedding. There are so many photos that I so excited to share! You know I love details... ...and great shoes! Jane had 3 fabulous pairs! A toast before heading to Crest!Since it was so cold, they moved the ceremony inside but it was still gorgeous! I just love the way Jackson is looking at her!This bouquet was beautiful! Wedding at The Cedars in Hendersonville, NC

The Cedars in Hendersonville, NC is a wonderful place for a wedding. I say that because that is where I had my wedding 11 years ago, plus Sarah and Mark chose it for theirs. There are so many wonderful moments from this day and I must say that Sarah is the greatest bride ever. She didn't miss a beat that day, even when the power went out in the church just before the ceremony. They moved it to another room in the church where it had a little more light and just a bit cooler. And just before she walked down the aisle it came back on! Some of my favorite parts of the day are the getting ready. These are especially cute with her and her mom dancing once she is in her dress.

Choy from Choy's Ikebana and Flower Shop did a wonderful job with the bouquet! So beautiful!

Lioncrest Wedding at Biltmore Estate

Lindsey and Tommy were married at Lioncrest on the Biltmore Estate in Asheville NC. I just loved her pink accents throughout the wedding, especially her shoes!!!! My cheeks hurt so bad after this wedding because they had me smiling and laughing so much that day. A fun bridal party mixed with a great location and wonderful vendors = perfect wedding! Lindsey and Tommy had their first meet at Lioncrest and then we drove around the estate for some fun shots. I love it when we have time to play, especially at Biltmore, where there are so many areas with gorgeous settings.

Wedding Hill at Highland Lake Inn

What an amazing day! Jane and Justin were married on wedding hill at Highland Lake Inn. Her vision for the wedding was vintage romance and she totally pulled it off with the help of Stacy at The Bloom Room. Her colors wer pink, yellow, and ivory with the guys in gray suits and matching ties. So beautiful! There were so many images that I want to share but you would be here all day waiting for them to load, so I had to narrow them down to just a few favs. I cannot begin to tell you what a wonderful family they have. They really touched my heart. I just love this image and she turns around with her veil on and Mom is so happy!They chose to have a 1st meet before the wedding so they could have that special moment just the two of them. I love the look on Justin's face as she walks up behind him!Can you just feel the love!!!!Since they had the 1st meet, we were able to do all the family photos before the ceremony. That allowed them have just a few moments afterward to themselves and have time for a few couple photos around Highland Lake Inn. Here is one of my favorites of Jane's attendants!And you all know how I LOVE me some details!!!!Can you just see what a fun group was there!!!Thank you Jane and Justin! Grand Bohemian and Crest Pavilion Wedding

OMG! What an awesome day this was! Katheryn and Justin began their wedding day at the Grand Bohemian Hotel in Asheville NC. This is such a fantastic location! Too many places for photos! They each had their own room for getting ready. Anthony, from As the Chair Turns Salon on Wall Street in Asheville, was the stylist that has magic hands to create masterpieces! He was wonderful! Once everyone was ready Katheryn and Justin had a first meet in the ballroom. It was perfect! We then took some family and bridal party photos there at the Bohemian, because Katheryn and Justin wanted to join in at the cocktail hour. Check out the awesome photos from the Bohemian!And then it was off to the ceremony...with a little rumble in the sky. Once we arrived to the Crest Center Pavilion it was raining, so they moved everything inside. Even with the rain it was still a beautiful ceremony. I just love how the staff at Crest are always on top of their game. Ready for anything! Here are some favorites:Just after the ceremony the rain cleared and we had a chance to go outside and play! I just love these ribbons Katheryn made! Some fun details!And of course some photo booth FUN!The Firecracker Jazz band played all night keeping the dance floor hopin'! It was too much fun!And a perfect end to a perfect day!And finally two more vendors that I must mention because they are super fab are the florist and cake/cupcake baker. Blossoms at Biltmore Park and Tiffany's Baking Co. are some of the best in the industry. Cliffs at Glassy Chapel Wedding Photos

You remember Kevin and Alex from a few posts back. They were married at the Cliffs at Glassy Chapel. Well, it poured the rain all day on their wedding day. So, we had a "2nd wedding day" and were able to capture some really awesome images. The view is why they selected the chapel, so we had to make sure to have these images to include in their album. Inn on Biltmore Estate Wedding and Lioncrest Reception

Joanne and Darrel were married at The Inn on Biltmore Estate and had their reception at Lioncrest. It was a day filled with LOTS of laughter and tears. I cried so hard during the father daughter dance, that I was so thankful for auto focus on my camera. My eyes were sooooo blurry I couldn't see anything. Champagne Cellar Wedding Featured in The Knot!

Wedding at Lake Murray, SC

Meet Rachel and Dave! A super fun couple! Their wedding was held lakeside at Dave mother's home. It was beautiful! Nearby was an old mill that Rachel had seen and knew we had to photograph there. If only I could spend the entire day there with them...But we only had a few minutes and they were smokin' HOT! Not to mention the weather was too, but it was still perfect! So, as you can see Kim was completely excited and shocked. Matt pulled this off so well. He contacted me a few weeks before and we set up "the plan". She was under the assumption they were going to visit a friend and along the way they would stay the night at the Inn on Biltmore Estate and have dinner when they arrived. The next day they would finish the drive to their friend's house. Well, he actually planned for them to spend the entire weekend at Biltmore, just the two of them. When they arrived that afternoon at the front of the house, he "decided" to stop and have someone take a picture of them. It was very convenient that there was a photographer "working" that they could ask. "Excuse me Miss, can you take a picture of us?" as he handed me his camera to take the image. And, before she knew it he was down on one knee asking her to be his wife! How romantic and sweet! They were so much fun to work with! Best wishes Mat and Kim for a most wonderful life together!

Cliffs at Glassy Chapel Wedding & Cliffs Valley Reception

Alex and Kevin were married a few weeks ago at the Cliffs at Glassy Chapel which is so beautiful! It was pouring the rain that afternoon, but it was also pouring love! I loved that they wrote their own vows! It was precious when Alex was reading hers to Kevin as he reached to wipe away her tears. So much love! There are a lot of images that I want to share from this wonderful day. But before I do, I have a few people to mention that helped make this day so beautiful : Choy's Ikebana and Flower Shop did a wonderful job with the flowers and decorating the Cliffs Valley Clubhouse for the reception. The amazing cake was created by Tom Hohman of the Cliffs Communities. So beautiful and delicious! Just Married!!!!

Flat Rock NC Wedding and Reception

Mike and Lindsay were married at St James Episcopal Church in downtown Hendersonville NC. You remember their super fun engagement a few posts back, well their wedding day topped that! It was a beautiful day, with a gorgeous couple, a stunning dress, lovely bridesmaids, handsome groomsmen, and the most wonderful families and friends! The weekend started on Thursday with a welcoming party at the Arts Council in Hendersonville, NC. The next day again was filled with fun events. The bridal luncheon was held at Highland Lake Inn. One of my favorite details of the wedding is the dresses on display at the luncheon. The mothers had gathered several generations of wedding gowns worn by the ladies in their families. I loved hearing the history behind each one. So beautiful!That evening, the rehearsal dinner was held at the Hendersonville Country Club. Pam from The Flower Market did a wonderful job decorating each event. This event had a beach theme since Mike's family is from Florida. I loved all the details she put into this. Then of course, the wedding day was perfect! Lindsay's dress was from the Kenneth Pool Collection and looked amazing on her. I love these shots of her getting ready.Some of my always favorite images...when they first see each other.Such a beautiful church!The reception was held at Kenmure Country Club in Flat Rock NC. Again Pam did a wonderful job with all the flowers and decor! A few of the lovely ladies and handsome men...And at last, the first dance...The rest of the night was filled with lots of dancing, laughter, funny stories, and was topped off with champagne and sweets for the ladies and brandy and cigars for the men. Thank you to everyone involved. I truly enjoyed being part of this celebration!

Meet Katheryn and Justin! When I first met Katheryn, I knew she was going to be awesome to work with. She has a vision for her wedding and we are completely on the same page. I think my favorite moment during the engagement session is when we were just starting at the 2nd location and I finally showed her an image in the back of the camera. She yelled "thats exactly what I want!" How perfect can it get? When we first got to Grand Highlands the wind was blowing like crazy, but we worked with it and still got some awesome images. Then we found an area just out of the winds reach and the sun was shining just right through the trees. It was the setting we were looking for. I am over the top excited about these images! We had too much fun! I cannot wait for the wedding in June.

I was so happy when Natalie called me about her wedding. You see, I met Natalie as a bridesmaid in McKeever's wedding last year and now here we are celebrating her wedding. It was a really fun day in Columbia, SC! I loved the monogramed hats that were given to all the groomsmen! There were so many images from this day that I just love but here are a few that I just have to share...I love the look on Brian's face when he first saw Natalie walk through the doors. Then the way he looks at her during their vows...Yay! They're married!!!!Love the hat Brian!Who's gonna get it.....She is... and soooo happy! I love it!!!! Raleigh Wedding

I missed blogging a wonderful wedding with one of my favorite couples in December and just realized it. So, I had to share! Jenny and Scott were married at Bayleaf Baptist Church in Raleigh, NC. The drive there was quite scary since it was 7 hours through the snow covered roads. Luckily I caught up with a salt truck going over the mountains so it was smooth sailing till he got off the highway. But we arrived safely and the next morning the roads were clear! Yay! Back at the house there was 15" of snow. A perfect day for a wedding! Here are some of my favorites.

New Year's Eve was so gorgeous at Biltmore for Kristin and Drew's wedding. They were so fun to work with! The ceremony and reception was held at the Champagne Cellar at the Winery at Biltmore Estate. I have never seen it more beautiful there. The Flower Gallery did a beautiful job with all the flowers and tablescapes. I was in love! I loved it that they decided to have a first meet before the wedding just the two of them. It is beautiful, loving, and so full of joy! Then we were able to enjoy the estate and grab some beautiful images all around the estate. It is great when I have time to play and be creative!The ceremony was filled with candles all around that lit up the room so beautifully. The love notes they wrote to one another were sealed up to be read on their 10 year anniversary. Their officiant Tim Lolley is always wonderful to work with.The whole day was filled with so much laughter, tears, and just pure happiness. And what a perfect finale to a perfect day!I heart Kristin and Drew!!!!!

Highland Lake Inn Winter Wedding

Debi and John were married at the Highland Lake Inn in Flat Rock NC. I just love shooting there as it is such a fun place with a great staff. Debi, being the creative person she is, did all the decorations herself. The wonderful ladies from Sweetbrier Flower Shoppe assisted with the set up and provided the gorgeous arch for the ceremony. I just love how Debi brought all of her ideas together! They chose their date because it was her parents 45th wedding anniversary. How cool is that! I just think Debi is so beautiful! Love her perfect teeth! Well she is a dentist after all!And this image of John just before he walks down the aisle...so happy!And a perfect end to a perfect day!

You probably remember the oh so fun engagement of Ashley and Chris. Well, their wedding was exactly that too! I had a blast! I met them at Stephanie and Bobby's wedding in Atlanta. Ashley was a bridesmaid in Stephanie's wedding and I love it when I get to see previous couples at weddings of their friends. It is great to catch up. The wedding was held at St Mary's Catholic Church in Charleston, SC and the reception followed at the Francis Marion Hotel downtown.

Bridal Show

This weekend's bridal show had a fantastic turnout. This was the first year I have had my own booth. Usually I help my other photographer friends with their booths, but this time I decided to have my own. Well actually, it wasn't my own though...I joined with a couple other vendors in the area and we put together a BIG booth to showcase our creativity. Shannon with Shannon Baker Events and Brandt with the Marriott and Courtyard by Marriott put together what I thought was a gorgeous booth. I look forward to working with the awesome couples I met. I donated a bridal portrait for the big giveaway during the runway show and the winner is so fabulous! I cannot wait to shoot her session!!! This is a great start to what seems to be a fantastic year ahead.

Engagement Session in Flat Rock, NC

Lindsay and Mike were real troopers for their session or should I say sessions. On the first day, it was about 35 degrees with wind gusts up to 30 mph. It was COLD! So we had a 2nd session which was a little warmer. Once they actually got to warm up a little we had so much fun! I am so excited for their wedding in April!

Claxton Farm Wedding - Part 2

And the fun begins.......The second theme of Cameron and Devin's wedding at Claxton Farm was 80's night! All the guests participated and it was a total blast! I knew they were going to be a fun couple when we did their engagement and they told me about their idea, but I had no idea it would turn out this perfect!!! Everyone had their own attire, but the wristbands, fingerless lace gloves, and glow bracelets were provided as favors to all the guests. How appropriate! Cameron found the perfect 2nd dress straight from the 80's! Big bows and all! And of course Devin had to show off his new gold pants and his smooth dance moves. MC Hammer has no chance against Devin.

So I received the most wonderful piece of mail that just makes me love my job more and more. They wrote to me to let me know how much they loved their pictures. This is what it said..."I wanted to offer you our overwhelming admiration and thank you for the artistic work you did with your photography. From the day we 1st met you in the coffee shop for a consult, to the engagement shoot, to the fun shoot at the bike shop, to our wedding, you've been brilliant. Not only are you kind-hearted, fun and so easy to get along with, your work is one of a kind. I truly hope you can sit back and admire it as much as we have. Trying to find and narrow down pictures for an album has proven overly difficult and its all your fault. We would recommend you, and will to everyone!" I have to also let you know that Cameron is a most wonderful cookie baker. She has started a new company with her delicious treats called Crumbs. You should check them out. YUMMY!!!! 50% of all profits go to charity. You really need some of her cookies...

Claxton Farm Wedding - Part 1

Cameron and Devin had a most awesome wedding at Claxton Farm. Their 1st theme was based on the book The Giving Tree. The details were very fitting, with leaves, curly willow, lanterns, and of course the gorgeous views with the fall colors. There are so many images that I need to break this into two parts. The ceremony was led by the wonderful Howard Hanger. If you have ever been to a wedding with Howard, you know that you will laugh, cry, love, and sing. This day was over the top fun! And you know that I just love cakes from Tiffany's Baking Co. and this one definitely topped the charts. Can you get any cooler than this group...I think not!

Crest Center Wedding with M7 Events

Ooooooh it was a cold day, but still a beautiful wedding! Jessica and Jimmy decided to keep the ceremony outside even though there was a little sprinkle as the ceremony started. It turned out beautiful! The wonderful Reverend Fred Werhan officiated over the ceremony. I loved that she presented the children with gifts during the ceremony to let them know how much she loved them and include them as part of the wedding. The wedding was held at the Crest Center Pavilion and catered by the wonderful M7 Event Solutions. Delicious as always!!! Lisa of Exquisite Events kept the day moving smoothly. Blossoms of Biltmore did a superb job with the flowers throughout the whole place. It was stunning! And two weeks in a row I worked with Chris of Mr. C's Mobile DJ. Fun Fun Fun!

Laurel Ridge Country Club Wedding

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Suzanne and Bobby. They are my new BFFs! With getting to shoot their wonderful rehearsal dinner and the wedding, I got to spend a good amount of time with them on their wedding weekend. Such a wonderful family! And OMG the delicious cookies!!!! There were too many great people that helped with this day that I have to mention them all. The gorgeous flowers were from the Flower Gallery in Asheville. The original cake person was not able to do Suzanne's cake and she found out last minute, so she ended up finding Cakes by Jane who, as always, did a fantastic job! Beautiful and delicious. The wedding and reception was held at the Laurel Ridge Country Club in Waynesville, NC. Such a beautiful location. One of the moment that will stand out in my mind forever was during the ceremony. The minister was saying that with "these hands, I will hold onto you in times of need. With these hands I will......" as Bobby repeated it to Suzanne. She of course was crying and he reached up to wipe away her tears just as the minister said....with these hands I will wipe away your tears. Everyone just burst out with the biggest happiest laugh because he did it right before she said it. What a perfect moment! Then after the wedding, Chris with Mr. C's Mobile DJ got the party started! Congratulations Suzanne and Bobby! I wish you a lifetime of happiness!

Meredith and Zac were so fun and I loved the way they planned their day. Not only did we have plenty of time for their bridal party photos, but they also had a first look. A moment where they see each other for the first time that day and have a private moment between themselves with no distractions. I love capturing this! Once they had some private time, we had the opportunity to create some really beautiful and fun imagery. They were just so much fun! I love shooting there! As always Maura of Honey Darling Events did a phenomenal job! The day always goes so smoothly when she is coordinating. I heart Maura! And I cannot leave out Sweetbrier for the gorgeous flowers! Leslie and Geri are wonderful! Paul from Digital Video Memories comes highly recommended! If you need a videographer check out his work. Blue Ridge Parkway Engagement Session

Meet Debi and John. You all know how I like to customize the engagement session to be about the couple and what they like to do together, well this couple loves cycling! So, of course we definitely included this as part of their day. What better place than on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was a perfect day! Not only did we have the engagement session, but Debi brought along one of her dresses to have some fun with. I loved it!!! Talk about creative, she is designing her own wedding and putting together most of the details herself. I have seen the invitations and some of the table decor and OMG! they are beautiful. I love all the elements she is bringing together. It is truly going to be a spectacular winter wedding at the Highland Lake Inn! I can't wait!

Crest Center Pavilion Wedding

Meghan and Brad's wedding at the Crest Center Pavilion was too cool for words! There are so many details they put into the planning of their day that just gave it that extra special magic! One of my favorite elements was the grooms gifts to his attendants ... replica pistols since they went target shooting! Awesome!!! We did the traditional family photos with the beautiful backdrop of the mountains there at the Crest Center, but for the bridal party images, we went down to a local barn to get to PLAY!!! This was such a fun crowd. Someone I have to mention was Howard Hanger who was the officiate. Once again his ceremony was out of this world. One of the special elements the bride and groom added was a reading from Dr. Sues "Oh The Places They Will Go". Tiffany's Baking Co. did an amazing job with the cakes, not only beautiful, but delicious too! As you can see below the details at the reception were phenomenal. Floras were from Blossoms at Biltmore Park. I love the flower chandeliers hanging over the tables and the glass platform hanging over the dance floor with pillar candles on a bed of roses. I LOVE details! Then to top it off, music for both the ceremony and reception was by the Firecracker Jazz Band! Several of Meghan and Brad's friends were very talented and put on an amazing performance, a tap dance and played the first dance song. It was beautiful! I could go on and on, but I am going to finish with some images of this amazing wedding!

Two Engagement Sessions

Cameron and Devin are so cool! I am over the top excited about their wedding at Claxton Farm in October. I have already shot two engagement sessions with them. One in Charlotte at their new house and the 2nd in Hendersonville. Each session should be about the couple and things they like to do together or something fun they want to do. So, since they just moved into their new home, it was definitely fitting to go there to play! I love their big red chair!!! Then we had a rockin time at one of the local motorcycle shops. It was awesome!

Wolfe Lake Wedding

Wow! Sarah and Erik had their wedding at his parent home on Wolfe Lake and it was stunning! All the linens were hand made and the special touches they put into this day made it perfect! Not to mention a rockin band, Superglide! Vikki of Wedding Inspirations helped keep the day flowing smoothly and the food by Chef Michael was delicious! The beautiful cake by Michelle Fountain of Icing on the Cake. Yummy! I cannot leave out Digital Video Memories. Once again they did a wonderful job. To say that I had a good time with this group is an understatement. This party was in overtime! Dad even was a rock star for the night! Then once the sun set, it ended perfectly with a crowd under the fireworks filled night sky. Thank you Sarah and Erik for choosing me to be there for you.

Clemson Engagement Session

Jason and Monique were married at the most beautiful St. Peters Catholic Church in Columbia, SC. The organ is sweet music to my ears! I love the feel of the ceremonies there. And to hear the vocalist sing Ave Maria with such an amazing voice brought tears of amazement to my eyes. It was stunning! Lake Junaluska Engagement

Meet the ever so wonderful Chris and Jami! They came up to Lake Junaluska where Chris visits every summer. His family has a home at the lake. Since they love the area so much, he decided this was where he wanted to propose to Jami, and he did at the cross. Yes, it is beautiful at night when it lights up, but it is gorgeous in the daytime as well. Look at the view! I thoroughly enjoyed my day with them and am very excited for the wedding in October. It will be held at the chapel at the lake and the reception at the new Gateway Club in Waynesville.

Highland Lake Inn Wedding

Remember Lou and Kris...
and I thought I had a great time with them for the engagement! I had no idea what a blast they would be for the wedding! Their theme for the wedding was Friends Family and FUN! How awesome is that! The wedding was held at Highland Lake Inn where the food was just fabulous and the location was perfect! Here are a few of my favorites from their day.

Lake Junaluska Engagement

Nicola and Bryan were such a blast to work with! Our first attempt for the engagement was rained out, and then the 2nd attempt was changed because the location we originally chose was closed. So we improvised...and it turned out wonderful! We started at Lake Junaluska in Waynesville, NC then headed up on the parkway for the GORGEOUS! sunset. Then we stopped in town for a few drinks. You guys are awesome and I cannot wait for the wedding!

Pretty Place Chapel Wedding

Cam and Sanders were married earlier this month at Pretty Place Chapel which has the most beautiful views! So when you mix this with two good looking people, all their friends and family, you come out with a beautiful wedding! The reception followed in Greenville, SC at the Poinsett Club. What a great reception location!

Columbia SC Wedding

Meet Tiffany and Jocko! What a fabulous couple! There are so many images that I want to share, so this is going to be a really long post. They were married at Francis Burns United Methodist Church and the reception was held at the Clarion Hotel in Columbia, SC. We also shot her bridal portrait all over Columbia. It was awesome. I have to mention Shannon Jones of Shannon Baker Weddings & Events who is so wonderful to work with. She is so creative and fun and has a great team! This day went so smoothly and right on time. Shannon I am thankful to have been able to work with you again. The fabulous make-up artist was Jamie Floyd. Also, the beautiful, most delicious cake was from Parkland Cakes. So, here are lots of details, portraits, the awesome couple, and a few fun moments. Enjoy!

Here we have Mairin and Alex who were married at Larkins on the River in Greenville, SC. Their reception was held next door at the Wyche Pavilion. I love this venue! Lioncrest Wedding at Biltmore Estate

Katrina and Paul held their rehearsal dinner at the River Bend Barn and the ceremony at Lioncrest on Biltmore Estate. You may remember their engagement session from a few months ago where we enjoyed exploring the estate for some gorgeous locations. Now they are officially a married couple! I have to give kudos to a wonderful team that helped make the event so wonderful.

Pinebrook Manor Wedding

Pinebrook Manor is a beautiful bed and breakfast located in Hendersonville, NC. If you get an opportunity, you should visit for a few days. Kimberly and Jeremy had a most beautiful wedding there. I couldn't wipe the smile from my face all day. It was just perfect!

I really like to talk with each couple to see how they see their day documented and photograph based on what they ask for. Some want all photojournalism, some want a little more traditional, and others want a mixture of both. I also try to pay attention to each client and their needs through the day and help if I am needed. Here is an email I got from Kimberly. Again she left me smiling all day!

THANK YOU SO MUCH! You were FANTASTIC at our wedding--everyone commented how much fun you were, how professional, and how you seemed to be everywhere at once. I had you running all over the bed and breakfast, and you were spot on every time, it was amazing! Everytime there was a "picture perfect" moment, you just knew where to be to get the shot--and you did it without drawing attention to yourself or distracting anyone. You directed my crazy family with patience and skill, and your time with just Jeremy and I felt like a timeout in the midst of the craziness, and let us take in that we were really married!

My family told me that you were shooting candid shots of guests and getting groups together for various other shots, which is such a great idea to make sure we have record of everyone there. You seemed to be always in the right place at the right time--I never even saw you take a break and I got worried about you at one point! You were always smiling and it was obvious to everyone that you were loving your work, which makes all the difference in the photos and in the feeling at the event. Everytime I communicated with you, you were always up-to-speed, professional, and remembered everything we'd talked about before. You were totally flexible on the day of my bridal shoot and at the wedding, which was such a relief when others were stressing me out. I could look at you and see you grinning at me, and I'd have to smile and just laugh it off. I cannot thank you enough for being that port in the chaos for me. I am so glad we chose you as our photographer and I will talk to any future clients and give you a GLOWING recommendation if you want!

Cape Fear Country Club Wedding

Meet Esther and Jordan:

They had a most beautiful nighttime ceremony at the Cape Fear Country Club in Wilmington, NC. Since it was an evening wedding they met before the ceremony for some wonderful pictures of just the two of them on the docs, and then also with their bridal party. What amazing light we had that day!

One of my favorite parts of the day are the getting ready shots. This image of Jordan with his best man in the background is definitely one of my favs!

Inn on Biltmore Wedding

Melissa and Chad were married at the Inn on Biltmore Estate. Melissa knew that she wanted some great images all over the estate since it is such a beautiful location, so she planned an early ceremony and reception, and then afterward the immediate family and bridal party went around the estate for some fun pictures. It was perfectly planned. When we finished it was just as the sun was setting and the moon was shining in the sky. We stopped for one last image by the lagoon with the house in the background, the moon shimmering on the lagoon, and Chad and Melissa Holding each other. It was amazing! This day couldn't have been any better. Jennifer from Verge Events did a fantastic job coordinating the day. I loved Melissa's use of peacock feathers! It was so beautiful! Stacy from the Bloom Room did a wonderful job as always with the flowers. Congratulations to Chad and Melissa. I wish you all the love in the world!
